It's a proud day for us at Prompt Security, a SentinelOne company, as we have been recognized in the Gartner report for our innovative approach to AI security.

The recent Gartner recent report, "Cool Vendors™ in AI Security 2025," highlights providers with innovative ways of securing AI applications and supporting AI trust, risk, and security management capabilities. We see this recognition as underscoring the growing importance of specialized security solutions as organizations increasingly adopt AI technologies.

According to our understanding of the Gartner analysis, enterprises face urgent requirements to implement specialized security controls across the entire AI technology lifecycle. AI applications are rapidly evolving into AI Agents, which brings additional security challenges.

The report identifies several key areas where technology innovations are happening across the secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), including:

- AI security testing: Automated testing during development with a focus on adversarial testing to support red teams

- AI runtime defense: Protection and policy controls at runtime that help prevent attacks

- AI security posture management (AI SPM): Discovery and monitoring of AI infrastructure security challenges

- AI usage control: Tools for organizations adopting third-party AI applications that provide discovery and granular policies

Strategic Recommendations and Future Predictions

According to Gartner analysis in the "Cool Vendors in AI Security 2025" report, organizations need to take several critical steps to effectively secure their AI systems.

Three key recommendations for cybersecurity leaders:

- Continue to develop evaluation skills through training and knowledge sharing in the security teams to focus on strong outcomes and ignore marketing noise.

- Prioritize hands-on pilots and experiments when testing the combination of AI security testing and AI runtime controls technologies.

- Assess providers for the scope of today’s AI applications and tomorrow’s evolutions of these applications into agentic systems.

Looking ahead, Gartner makes a significant strategic planning assumption: "Through 2029, over 50% of successful cybersecurity attacks against AI agents will exploit access control issues, using direct or indirect prompt injection as an attack vector." We believe this prediction highlights the critical importance of implementing strong access controls and protection mechanisms against prompt injection attacks, which will likely remain the primary vulnerability in AI systems for years to come.

Organizations that proactively implement specialized security frameworks like AI TRiSM (Trust, Risk and Security Management) will be better positioned to mitigate emerging risks.

Looking Forward: Our Continued Innovation

We view this recognition as a Gartner Cool Vendor as a testament to the continuous innovation we've demonstrated over the past two years. As the AI security landscape evolves at a dazzling pace, we remain committed to staying ahead of the curve and developing cutting-edge solutions. With the backing of SentinelOne, we're now standing on the shoulders of giants, leveraging their global infrastructure and expertise to accelerate our innovation roadmap and expand our capabilities for securing increasingly autonomous AI systems.
